Solvace KAI MCP

SOLVACE KAI MCP

Solvace KAI connects MCP (Model Context Protocol) clients to Solvace, the operational excellence System developed by Solvace NV/SA for manufacturing and industrial teams. This page explains how to connect it, how sign-in works and what each of its tools does.

With the connector you can ask about your operational data, get help using Solvace and create action plans, always with your own Solvace account and permissions.

Server URL: https://www.solvacelabs.com/mcp

1. Overview

KAI is Solvace's AI assistant. Each kind of request follows a defined flow, so KAI answers only about what Solvace makes available to it and only uses data from your company's Solvace environment. It does not access anything outside Solvace.

The connector exposes three tools:

2. Requirements

KAI sees the same data your Solvace user sees, on the site you are signed in to. To work with another site, switch site in Solvace and connect again.

3. Connecting

3.1 Claude

Open Customize > Connectors, find Solvace KAI in the directory and select Connect. To add it by URL instead, choose Add custom connector and paste the server URL. Then turn the connector on in a chat from + > Connectors.

3.2 Claude Code

Add the server with the command below, then run /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.

claude mcp add --transport http solvace-kai https://www.solvacelabs.com/mcp

3.3 Other MCP clients

Add a remote server with the Streamable HTTP transport and the server URL. The client discovers sign-in automatically (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration).

Companies with a dedicated Solvace address can also use https://<your-company>.solvacelabs.com/mcp.

4. Sign-in and Consent

You sign in with your existing Solvace account. Your password is entered only on Solvace pages, never in the MCP client.

  1. On the Solvace sign-in page at www.solvacelabs.com, enter your Solvace username. Solvace finds your company's environment.
  2. You are taken to your company's Solvace address, for example yourcompany.solvacelabs.com. Sign in there as usual, or with your company's single sign-on.
  3. Review the consent screen. It shows which application is asking for access and where you will be redirected. Select Allow to connect, or Deny to cancel.
  4. You return to your MCP client, connected. Access is renewed automatically while you keep using it.

When the requesting application runs on your own computer (for example Claude Code), the consent screen shows an extra warning. Only allow it if you started the connection yourself.

To disconnect, remove or disconnect the connector in your MCP client.

5. Tools

All tools take one natural-language text input, in any language, up to 2,000 characters. KAI answers in the language of the question.

5.1 Query Solvace Data (query_solvace_data) - read-only

What it does: answers questions about your company's operational data in Solvace for your current site: counts, sums, averages, percentages and breakdowns across modules such as action plans, kaizens, defect tags, inspections and incidents.

Input: question, the data question.

Examples:

Response: a short answer with the number, or a breakdown as text or a table. Claude can turn a breakdown into a chart.

Limits:

5.2 Ask Solvace Help (ask_solvace_help) - read-only

What it does: answers how-to questions about using Solvace, such as how to register, edit, approve or follow up on something in a module, from the official support content maintained by Solvace. It does not read or change your company's records.

Input: question, the how-to question.

Examples:

Response: step-by-step instructions in text, with a link to the full illustrated guide when one exists.

Limits:

5.3 Create Action Plan (create_action_plan) - creates records

What it does: creates a new action plan in Solvace on your behalf, through a short conversation. KAI reads the details you give, asks for missing required fields, checks the values against your site's option lists, users and dates, shows a summary and creates the plan only after you confirm.

Input: request, what the plan is about and any known details (title, type, priority, responsible person, due date), or your reply to the previous step.

Example:

  1. "Create an action plan to fix the leak on line 2, type Corrective, due next Friday, responsible me."
  2. KAI shows the draft and asks for missing fields, such as priority, with the valid options.
  3. "Priority Normal."
  4. "Yes, create it." KAI creates the plan and returns its code. Reply "Cancel" at any step to discard the draft.

Response: while drafting, a summary of the filled fields, the missing required ones and any warnings. After creation, the confirmation with the new action plan code.

Limits:

6. How Requests Work

7. Modules KAI Knows
